Cold Weather

Is it really time for cold weather all ready? I am not so sure that I am ready for it quite yet, but like it or not it came with a vengeance. It hit us overnight. The leaves on the trees next to the house did not even have time to change color. They just froze in our morning of 14 degree weather and are probably just going to fall off. Luckily we picked our green tomatoes before having the plants turn black. We did not get much above freezing for two days. Of course those were the days that my sister Kinsey came to visit. It has been a lot of fun having her and Iris here. I just wish that it was a little warmer so that she didn't have to feel the craziness of my children when they are cooped up. O well, I guess she just got introduced to my world!! It may be a long winter trying to get homeschooling projects done with the help of a very eager 2 year old. Thank heavens he still takes naps.

I hear you! My kids are driving me crazy. I think that we need to invent some sort of toddler/child sized hamster wheel where they can just expend all the energy they have. We would be rich and be the recipients of many letters of gratitude from thankful mothers around the world. I hope that it warms up soon for your sake. It is funny though, because when we lived in Alaska you guys always seemed to be having the same weather we were.

It was so much fun being out there. Iris loved being with other kids. I think she gets tired of having to play with mom all the time. Wish we could have stayed longer. But that is the stinky part about being self employed, nobody else does the work when you're gone. We love you and miss you already. The stilts look like they were a hit.
